The specifications of a custom cable make it what it is, a custom cable. Each IT department considers the criticality of their infrastructure by the amount of details that go into building it and maintaining it. Many folks consider using alternative materials depending on their operations. Others follow strict specifications to maintain the warranty of the entire solution with manufacturers.
Other, perhaps do not exactly what to choose for one of another reason. The reality is that many of these products have different specifications that they were built upon to meet the requirements for a specific solution, so what may fit your needs may not actually fit someone else.
Corning is a company founded in 1851. This company is a worldwide known enterprise for quality and innovation. The company’s name stands for quality of materials that are reliable and comply with industry standards. You really cannot blame customers for asking for one of the best products in the market. This is true unless his specs for the project mandate the use of a different manufacturer (Commscope, Berk-tek, General Cable, Belden, etc) to obtain their warranty for the product and the complete solution. Companies are smart and they want to grab all your business. This is why they would allow you to get a total performance warranty if you of course use all of their products to complete the installation.
In regards to Corning Cables and products, the company is a leader of manufacturing products for fiber optics. This line of materials include the cable itself, connectors, splicing kids, fiber trays, and the rest of items you would need to splice the cable into the connector. I believe that one of the most important facts to consider is the quality of the products for what Corning stands, and the solid warranty of the products. Other manufacturers, especially the ones not recognized world-wide, may not be able to meet the type of warranty Corning could offer to their customers. In a world where users expect faster and better internet connections to support their work activities and internet browsing, the need for quality networks put components to the test every day.
This is yet another fact for what paying a little extra for your supplies/materials really pay off at the end. In fact, the use of Corning products may be a bit more expensive than others, but it is for a good reason such as heavy investment on research. After all, they were the first company who discovered such of glass and light beams in networks. You may be asking yourself, where could I get their products? There are channels for distribution of course, one of those is our company, we can get you the assembly or materials you need to complete your project. There are of course other distributors for the same product. Companies such as Anixter, Graybar and others can help you with the raw materials. Other enterprises such as the Corning Gold Certified Assembly houses take care of the cable assemblies. They are expensive but provide assemblies that are compliant with Corning tight mandates when making custom cables.
