Nowadays, the internet is saturated with many companies trying to offer the best product. Sometimes, the offers that you find online are so attractive that makes you wonder how a company makes money. The prices are so low that they really put doubts about one’scurrent suppliers.

Let’s face it; people are always looking for products that can save them money. In a home environment, this cable should work without a problem. This will occur because in your home network you would not test each drop for performance. Simply, this is not required and/or does not apply to you unless you run your business out of your house and have specific equipment that requires critical transmission speed to work correctly. So when you order and receive this low price cable, you may find that the box you order is significantly lower in weight than the one from another recognized brand such as Belden or General Cable for example. The problem with some manufacturers of wire is that they may mix copper and aluminum together to make the conductors. Additionally, the braid on the cable which is one of the reasons for performance is a lot less tight than others.

Custom Cables (copper cables vs. aluminum clad wire)

On reason why this is done is to lower the cost of production and increase profits. So in your eyes, all you notice is that the cable weights less but looks just about the same. If this is what is occurring, then the issue here is that the cable may not pass a performance test that may be required by some customers to complete the installation. The reason why this happens is the conductivity of aluminum is less than copper so over long distances there would be greater signal degradation as a result. Another common problem is the cable itself, when completing big jobs with these types of cables, the wire may coil when pulled from the box. This does not make it easy to work with since you would need to keep trying to make the cable to keep straight for easy pulling thru ceilings or walls.

Here at Readytogocables, we strive for quality. Our custom cable house carefully selects the materials to use when making custom cable assemblies. We noticed that some cables made outside of the United States do not comply with the same regulations that others meet. At some point, we noticed that some of the conductors from these cables may break a lot easier when crimped to the connector. We realize the reason why this happens is the inclusion of aluminum in the cable and the AWG of the cable was different than stated on the jacket of the wire. Not Nice!
